Terms of Use
- Be who you say you are, pay for what you use, don't abuse the Service.
- Minors need a parent or guardian to hold the account.
- $39/month per learner profile. Cancel anytime — one tap, effective at the end of the billing period.
- The Coach teaches — it doesn't do your assignments. Don't try to make it.
- The AI can make mistakes. Verify anything important.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FixMyGrade website and learning services (the "Service"), operated by FixMyGrade ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Who can use FixMyGrade
- You must be at least 13 years old to create your own account.
- Users under 18: a parent or legal guardian must create and hold the account, consent to these Terms on the minor's behalf, and manage the learner profile. For children under 13, this is required by law (COPPA), and the parent provides verifiable consent.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
2. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation
- The Service costs $39 per month, per learner profile. A family account pays for each learner profile it creates; the parent oversight view is free.
- Where offered, free trials convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel first.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- Cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. We don't do cancellation mazes.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable once a billing period has started.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice before it affects your subscription.
3. What the Service is — and isn't
FixMyGrade is an AI-powered mastery-learning coach. It teaches, questions, verifies understanding, and tracks your progress. By design, it does not provide direct answers to your assignments, write your essays, or complete your work. That refusal is a core feature of the Service, not a defect.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others;
- Attempt to bypass, manipulate, or reverse-engineer the Coach's safeguards (including its answer-refusal design) or any other part of the Service;
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, or content that is malicious, harassing, or harmful;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or interfere with its operation;
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties, or use it to build a competing product;
- Use automated means to access the Service except through interfaces we provide.
5. Your content
- You own the content you submit — your questions, work, notes, teach-backs, and uploaded materials ("Your Content").
- You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you (including processing it with our AI providers to generate the Coach's responses).
- You're responsible for having the rights to anything you upload. Uploading your own class materials for your own learning is the intended use.
6. Our content
The Service — including its software, design, the Coach, and all content we generate or provide — is owned by FixMyGrade or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own learning while your subscription is active. Learning materials the Coach generates for you are yours to use for personal, non-commercial purposes.
7. AI disclaimer
8. Parent accounts & progress reporting
For parent-managed accounts, the parent receives progress information (work time, verified mastery, grade trends). Students' conversations with the Coach are not shared with parents, as described in our Privacy Policy. Safety exceptions may apply where we reasonably believe a student is at risk of harm.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create risk for us or other users — with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 5–7 and 10–12) survive.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes — grades depend on many factors, including the work you put in. (That's rather the point.)
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FixMyGrade will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at hello@fixmygrade.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
